I like the one on page 76 where two sheep are talking.
One is saying, “For God sake Trevor, always you with
that conspiracy stuff.”
The other one is saying, “I’m telling you - the man and
the dog are definitely working together,”

Hello petition supporters, your Gliderport Story does matter.

Our recreational rights at Torrey Pines Gliderport have been eliminated by an abusive city leaseholder, known as "Air California Adventure," ACA, known as the notorious David Jebb/Robin Marian Police Crime Family. This entity has illegally turned our recreational rights and freedoms into a privilege for a license and fee. This is completely unacceptable on any terms. We can't let this continue. It is a violation of our civil and public rights to recreate on public parks and lands without arbitrary fees created out of thin air, such as the Access Waiver and Pass in question.

Since the fraudulent takeover of Torrey Pines Gliderport in 1998, David Jebb won the lease as a club. His bumper sticker said, "For the Love of Free Flight, Torrey Pines Gliderport". David Jebb assured everyone that the Torrey Pines Gliderport belonged to the Public. David Jebb promised to protect our rights and freedoms at Torrey Pines Gliderport. Originally, Hang Gliding and Paragliding are free to fly under a USHPA pilot rating card. If you had a USHPA rating card, Recreational Pilots are cleared to fly free, USHPA pilots are insured above and beyond what was required by FAA law. Hang Gliding and Paragliding are already protected by California Recreational Statutes

Our Historic Torrey Pines Gliderport was built by the people, for the people. It was David Jebbs who promised to merge the sport of Paragliding with the existing Sport of Hang Gliding. It is the USHPA, along with David Jebbs' ACA " AIR CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE" that assumed responsibility, and obligation to keep our parks free, and even more to protect OUR recreation rights and freedoms, and not to exploit recreational freeflight pilots across the country.
It is illegally using a Snack Shop flight director's authority to block public access for a license, a fee, and an unfair waiver.

Please show up at both LJSA and LJTC to support the SD Recreational Waiver, as a working solution that needs to be implemented at Torrey Pines Gliderport. ASAP! It's time to stand up for your rights that have been illegally taken from you. Please feel free to call or text me with any questions. Businesses and public move in parallel throughout the world. Businesses thrive on the public seeing their offers. Businesses should not grab the entire space; leave room for public open recreation in federal airspace and public park land! Public users of the park: sign a simple waiver; done deal. If a hogging business pushes the public to zero open use, then consider making the business zero. With the business at zero, the public will grow in health via recreational motions; that public will use local eateries and dwellings where taxes will fill the city coffers.

Equitable sharing of the Torrey airspace and launch by free public recreationists and business flying is possible; why the city does not go to such a target makes one question the aims of the city.

Businesses and the public can—and should—coexist. Businesses thrive when the public sees their offerings.
But no business has the right to take over the entire commons. Federal airspace and public parkland must remain open to recreation.

The solution is simple: public users sign a basic waiver—done. If a business pushes public access down to zero,
then the city should consider reducing that business to zero. When the public has space to fly, health grows,
local restaurants and lodging benefit, and city tax coffers rise.

At Torrey, fair sharing of airspace between business operators and free public flyers is entirely possible.
The real question is: why doesn’t the city make this its goal? Whose interests are being served when the public is shut out?

Hello Ernie,

We had a unanimous vote of the Board (myself, Joe, Bill, and Sam) that your posts attacking me were not about hang gliding and had no place on the forum. Your text messages (portions shown here) made it clear that you were posting to try to harm me specifically:

If you violate this warning, you will be permanently banned. A warning has also been issued to you via text message and personal message on this forum.

I will add personally, that your Blog here has been an amazing gift to everyone on U.S. Hawks, and I hope you will continue it. But you cannot use this forum for your stated goal of harming or destroying anyone. So please enjoy posting as you have before our conflict and you will remain welcomed here at U.S. Hawks.

I think the following is in line with Eagle's targets:
the Eagle wrote:... I salute the letter from Joe Foust
(sic, Faust)

Dear San Diego City Officials and Impactful Authorities and Leaders,

I am writing to respectfully propose that the City of San Diego expand recreational hang gliding opportunities at the Torrey Pines Gliding Area to include open, free access for all members of the public, alongside existing commercial operations. Such an initiative would encourage healthy outdoor activity, enhance community engagement, and promote San Diego as a leader in accessible recreation.

California’s recreational use statutes provide liability protection for municipalities offering public recreational spaces, making it feasible to safely accommodate recreational pilots. Hang gliding is already regulated under federal aviation law, which does not require medical, pilot, or craft certification for participation. Importantly, membership in private organizations, such as the USHPA, should never be a prerequisite to access federal airspace.

By supporting open access to hang gliding, the City can create a safe, structured environment for both new and experienced recreational pilots while fostering wellness, outdoor activity, and equitable use of public lands. I believe this initiative aligns with San Diego’s commitment to vibrant, inclusive, and healthy community recreation.

Thank you for considering this proposal. I would be pleased to discuss practical approaches for safely expanding public hang gliding access at Torrey Pines.

Sincerely,
Joe Faust,
co-founder of the first USHGA, early 1970s,
publisher: HangGliderMagazine.com and EnergyKiteSystems.net
barred from flying at Torrey because I refuse to join a specific private off-putting organization and pay an off-putting collapsible-canopy private business to enter open federal airspace.
