Bob Said on Hawks & Larks:
So, I have to say, that I'm at a loss as to whether this was a real speech by the Pope or not. I'm not declaring it to be a fake, I'm just saying that I can't tell if it's real or not.

Craig responds:
The first 43 seconds of this video is actually real, but cropped, and the Popes voice is real, and anybody that has been to Catholic Mass (both my sons are Catholic and Baptized) understands how powerful and pure the human voice is in the spirit of the Lord, and the stained glass light that surrounds the Chapels, which are specifically designed and built to emanate the voice and pipe organs, allow petitioners to be full to the brim.

Going on:
AI is just a tool in a tool box and most people, like this video, don't know to use it to full advantage. The still picture and the words are so easily done by anybody sitting on a couch with a phone. Like so much in life today people start with a little bit of truth and academic, then inject hallucinogens and lies, and then a bit of truth, to complete their narrative. People are scrolling through life so fast that they don't catch it and "scroll on", and it goes directly to the subconscious like a subliminal cut does, where it lays there in wait. I can, and my kids and grandkids can, spot AI words and pictures in a heartbeat, although it's getting harder with all the new software.

And on:
I put this video up for the first 43 seconds, it is my Hawks & Larks, not the last 30:00, because Catholic Mass moves me, and the rest of the video, with some fine words generated, was generic at best, and anybody who even suspects that the picture and words were real, has fallen into the trap that is, "Not Knowing Your Bible".

And on another note about one of the BEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN.,
Bob wrote:
Actually, I think there's a slight logical contradiction in that last Led Zeppelin quote. It would be better to say: "in the short run there's still time to change the road you're on". The phrase "there's still time to change" implies that there will be an end to that time to change. In other words, the opportunity to choose another path is of limited duration and will eventually go away. That's inconsistent with it being "in the long run".

an excerpt of Bob's quote:
"It would be better to say, "in the short run......"

and on:
But the short run is materialistic, the "I"/"me", but it is the long run that the human spirit desires, and, "How Can I Help You" Is Key. I spent half my life knocking on peoples doors, from the richest of the rich, to the poorest of the poor, and at first greeting, I looked them in the eye and said, "How Can I Help You". I'm in it for the long run because I believe in the Word Of God as written in the first 5 books of the Bible.

And I'll Finnish because I am a "Mu'honen":
It could be said, "people wanting love but acting badly"

I suspect that the first 43 seconds may have been real, but that makes the deception even worse if the remainder was fake.

Humans are very well designed for their environment, but we also have weaknesses - Achilles' Heels - which make us very vulnerable outside of that environment. There are gasses that can render us unconscious in seconds. There are drugs that can kill us or make us hallucinate. There are "woke mind viruses" that can effectively destroy our rational thinking.

I believe that music is a similarly powerful force that targets one of our "Achilles' Heels". Music certainly has many psychological benefits. But just like a drug injected under the skin, music can also bypass many of our natural defenses. Music has a way of being accepted into our brains without being subjected to the critical examination of regular speech. I'm not sure of the exact mechanism for this "bypassing", but it may be due to it's somewhat hypnotic nature and the rate at which the words flow from the song. Maybe the pace of the words and the additional melody overwhelms our critical thought processes because it's coming too fast. But regardless of the mechanism, music can clearly bypass reason at least to some degree. That's not the central problem with this video, but I do want to mention it since "Hawks and Larks" is mostly a topic about music.

With regard to this particular video, I believe the first 43 seconds of singing are in Latin, so most non-Latin speakers won't know what the Pope was actually singing in that 43 seconds. But the remaining 36 minutes and 10 seconds are (mostly) in English, and from what I've read, they are not words by the Pope (even though the Pope's picture is shown throughout). As I said earlier, I can't personally be sure if the Pope actually said any of those English words or not. But if he didn't, then this video is another deception foreshadowing the loss of our ability to know truth from fiction. Just as with toxic gasses, drugs, and ideas, the ability for both media and AI to poison our thinking is a great danger for which we are not well equipped.

UPDATE:

My earlier quote was from Craig's original post. He has since updated his post to include this passage:

I agree completely. I especially appreciate Craig's comment about information going "directly to the subconscious like a subliminal cut does". That's a perfect way to say it. I believe AI will become the biggest threat to humanity that we've ever faced. Thanks for the update Craig!!

A Martian comes to your home and you give him a list of things to get at the store, milk, cheese, bread, et. sure he says, "I'm super intelligent, I can do that". the Martian gets to the store and finds 10 kinds of milk, 10 different kinds of cheese, 10 kinds of bread, and 10's of everything, he has so much to choose from he has basically lost his freedom to choose wisely. I believe if we "choose" to use all our tools wisely, including AI, we enhance our chances of surviving into the next world. If we just go along to get along, we have no choice but to perish, because we don't take the one path out of too many to travel. My path is to follow the "universal conscious self" which connects us all in real time. My Jewish friends say, that no mater what happens, that we should sit down, have dinner, and talk about things.

Also, when people make mistakes, the best time to correct them is immediately. It gets harder and harder for people to change paths as time goes on.

Of course, song lyrics are often written more for how they sound than for their stellar logic, and "in the long run" does sound better than "in the short run". That's why it's less than ideal to use song lyrics as guides in life.

;)

That's a nice thought, but it only works with people who are actually willing to "talk about things".

Also, your quote directly above isn't quite accurate. You included a quote block supposedly written by me, but you added: "How To Test Negative for Stupid. Screenshot 2025-10-11 003153 2 Stupid.png" inside that quote block.

But I didn't write those words or include that image. It's a small point, but it's important to be accurate when quoting someone else. One easy fix is to just state that the quote includes added text such as:

Bob Kuczewski (with my own added text) wrote: :

There are other ways to clarify the post, but I'll need Craig's approval before making any changes to what he wrote.

Also, the book by John Kennedy looks like an excellent read. I picked one review from a list and found this:

TheBookReviewClubs.blogspot.com wrote:
Style and Tone

Kennedy’s writing is exactly what one would expect if they’ve ever heard him speak. His trademark wit, country charm, and deliberate delivery translate seamlessly to the page. Nearly every page features a memorable line or humorous observation, such as:

  • “Always be yourself… unless you suck.”

  • “I say this gently: this is why the aliens won’t talk to us.”

  • “If you trust government, you obviously failed history class.”

  • “Our country was founded by geniuses but is being run by idiots.”

  • “Always follow your heart, but take your brain with you.”

These lines give the book an energy that keeps the reader smiling even when the subject matter—government failure and incompetence—could easily become depressing. The humor works as a release valve for the frustration so many Americans feel toward politics.

That sounds like vintage John Kennedy, and I'm sure it's a great book. Thanks for mentioning it Craig!!

It's a very good video. Here's just one quote from John Kennedy at around 5:50 into that video:

John Kennedy (with my emphasis) wrote:
If I were mayor of a major city today or the governor of a state with a crime problem, I would welcome additional law enforcement help. And it is a mystery to me why the Democrats won't accept it, except that anything President Trump is for, they're against. If President Trump came out in favor of breathing to survive, the Democrats would hold their breath.
