What do I think?

That kid must have been trying to see how gullible people are. His "math" was incoherent, and half of what he said didn't make sense.

The smoking "republican" obviously knew what he was talking about. He did make a few mistakes (some of which he caught, and some he didn't) but he was pretty much on target. He made his strongest point at the end when he pointed out that the bottleneck isn't the connection from your computer to your router. The bottleneck is on the other side of your router (cable, DSL, etc). So nothing you do with a cable inside your house is going to change that. His other strong point was his comment about throttling. Your data rate is limited by the rate that your provider sends it. You're not going to be able to play some trick (at least not with a wire!!) that's going to get them to send data any faster than they want to send it. As he said, they've got a tiered rate structure, and they're not going to send you data any faster than you're paying for it.

What was remarkable was how sincere the kid seemed. The fact that he would be wasting his time putting together such a useless video does not speak well for the future of our country. :(
