Future Flight of this Phonex Pilot.

Postby Chris McKeon » Mon Jun 28, 2021 3:02 pm

Hello all You Birds of Prey:

I want to introduce my self> I am 60 Years old, a Male Hang Glider Pilot with oh about 29 years of Flying under My Wings. I had a very good Flight record. That was until March 28th 2010. I experienced The4 worst crash I could Possible imagine. I was so injured That I spent 3 Months in a Coma. Can You say Brain Damage?
FOR me this experience has been a TOTAL game CYHANGER RFIOR me. I HAD my DRIVER LICENSE TAKEN FROM me. But, that was eleven years ago. This Now. THere is the very real possibility that theDay might very well come where I will drive myself to Dockweiler Beach so that I will be able to Fly Frank's Condor.

OK this is about it for Me right now. I hope that i will soon be climbing up to Cloud Base down in Southern California.

Question: Am I miss spelling: Dockweiler? Thank You CCMCK@GOLDSTATE.NET

Hey Sam!!!!

You beat me to welcoming Chris to the U.S. Hawks!!

Chris is a true Phoenix - rising from the ashes of his 2010 crash. I have been communicating with Chris for a number of years, and every year he's doing better and better.

Chris, I think Dockweiler would be a great place for you to get back into the air. I would be honored to be your assistant whenever you are ready. Just let me know.

Hi Sky Guys and Sky Girls:

Yes I have indeed been thinking about driving South upon the reinstatement of My CDL. I have been conversing with Bob and with John. For Dockweiler Beach might very well where I will return to my True Home. The Sky! I already know upon my setting the angle of attack. I really do believe, no make that: I totally know when my feet get just a foot off the ground it will be the most fulfilling moment in my 29 Year Flying Career. Thanks Bob, thanks so much for offering Me Your Condor is it? For Me to Fly.

Yes, it's a Condor 225 ... and a very special one.

That Condor was owned by Frank Colver (USHGA #7), and it was the first glider he flew from a high altitude after not flying hang gliders for about 40 years (talk about a flight of the Phoenix!). Here's a picture of Frank and John Heiney after that historic flight at Point of the Mountain Utah:

That same glider was also flown by Joe Faust (USHGA #5) during his ongoing return to flight at Dockweiler. Here's a picture of Joe flying that Condor at Dockweiler:

Finally, that same Condor 225 was my glider of choice when I broke the 200 flights in a day record at Dockweiler last week ... with 201 flights in that same Condor.

I think it would be very fitting if you would like to fly it when you return to the sky. I think you should start with a 330, but if that goes well, then the 225 would be next.

Hello Bob and all the other Hawkes up there in the Sky:

You say that you have a Condor 330? Boy at 330 Square feet, it must be like Flying a Big old Marsh mellow. But I will be feeling ecstatic, euphoric, No doubt I will be experiencing total Avionic Bliss the moment my feet first leave the ground. You know, no You could not know how good it will Feel for my Feet to leave the Ground for the First time in currently it has been 11 Years. Well I can not How I will feel. In My small, Measly Life, this Comeback that I have been undergoing has been better, far, Far, FAR BETTER than flying My Predator 500 Miles XC. And to think that about 10 and a Half Years ago My sister Kathleen was told by My attending Doctor who was responding to My Sister requesting that I would get an MRI performed on My left Shoulder. Well this Doctor while He lifted my Left Arm by the wrist, please note for I was in a comma at the Time. Well this worthless, insensitive, Cruel, POS, said to my Sister: "Why Bother, You can't have a conversation with a Potato" .

Upon hearing what this Doctor had said to My Sister, and knowing that my Brother John was in the Room at the Time. My Father said to My Brother: "You heard what that Doctor said about your Brother, and you did not Smack that Doctor. I would have slugged Him, I would have gone to Jail" MY Father said to Me regarding what I should do after I was fully recovered. My Father said to Me; ""When you are able to, you need to go find that Doctor and Beat His a**". No I could most likely I could beat that Doctors a** today I could. But it would be far more satisficing to Beat that Doctors Brain. I should go find Him and ask Him to Play Me a Game of Chess. I play Chess very Well, Today I play Chess well. I am talking about now since I was so injured. Brain Damage though is a tuff deal to overcome.

Well this is enough of my rambling, yes I need to get on with my Morning work-out. Good By everyone.

Hi Chris, welcome to the US Hawks!!!

Actually it was me who told you I have a Condor 330 which you can fly once you are able to come down here to SoCal. Bob has my former Condor 225. The extra 105 sq ft that my Condor has will help you leave the ground on that first hang glider flight after your accident. But remember, you agreed to taking your first few flights in the "Windsports Flight School's" Condor 330 before flying mine. I'm sure that John Heiney will be there to assist also.

Looking forward, as always, to your day and flight at Dockweiler.

ATo all you Hawke Pilots :

First I want to say that I am so deeply pleased by the Responses that I have had regarding my interest in going Home once again. Yes up in the Air is my True Home. I really do feel that way. I soo look forward also to being able to regain my CDL. You see the DMV automatically suspends one's License if Said Person was in a Coma. I was unconscious in a Coma for 3 Months. The Moral of my story is to not ever damage my Brain. I always had a good Brain.

I sort of like to call myself the Eveready Pilot; I take a licking and I keep ticking. My doctor, who is a Numerologist told me that He wanted Me to Go 6 months before He would sign the Form that will allow Me to take the Drivers test at the DMV. I already to and passed the written portion of the Test, in fact I smoked that Test. Then I will be able to drive Myself down to Southern California. Where I will get My Hang Gliding ratings re-instated.
