Method of Approach - 1971 Otto Meet Memorial -

Postby Neil Larson » Thu Oct 28, 2010 8:46 pm

After nearly 40 years of working on projects with Leading Edge Thinkers
Perhaps we should take a page from the old Do It Yourselfers Guide to Getting Things Done.
Of course it would be much easier to let someone else take care of all the details of this.
My most humble thanks to Bob K. here for allowing this platform for presenting ideas to further the project - Joe (Faust) has listed over 2 dozen individual sub-steps that should be purposefully taken care of before a Memorial Marker actually is placed on the ground. - I will post a copy of the list , in this page to share the insights for those who may be involved in this project-
We know what it is we want ... a Physical MARKER or Plaque or Stone Slab inscribed with a valid statement describing the event of May 23rd 1971. To give due honor to the historic event of 40 years ago.
Now 39 years out from that date we now perceive the importance to the Sport of Hang Gliding of that simple moment in time-
Documentation of the location is a major concern so that the event will be remembered. Recently in the film Big Blue Sky , Bill Liscomb, explains more accurately how The First Otto Meet became the pivotal point on the Aviation Time Line.
Bill eloquently and simply states the truth of how an entire “sports culture” can focus on that Gathering of Humanity giving “birth” to what is now Hang Gliding.
If we use a tried & true journalism method of
/ Who / What / When / Where / Why & How /
To share all the details of the project with those we need to involve it this to get it completed- At this stage of the project It is Imperative for everyone to be on the same page before any effort is lost or wasted –
This web file really helps to gather all ideas together so I agin thank Bob K for his energy here – I will add more soon…
