200 OR MORE, MAYBE, I can Hope

Postby Chris McKeon » Wed Aug 12, 2026 6:44 pm

I look back, I am sort of stunned looking back at My slow, difficult learning curve regarding My learning how to Fly My Predator I mean it took Me oh 15 Years before I was able to eclipse a 100 Miles XC. The problem with My being able to Fly a Hundred Miles or more was not with My Predator, no the lacking part between vMy Predator and Myself was no Question Me. The good thing was that after I Finally had Flown a Hundred Miles. I began to have other Flights of more than a Hundred Miles. So now I seem be stuck again regarding My XC Predator. The sticking point for Me now is 150 Miles. I had a Flight where I launched From Mount Diablo then I headed down the Central Valley, I managed 144 Miles. I wonder when I am Flying again, I just wonder How long it will be when I will Fly 200 Miles or More.

Yes, Oh Yes. I can see that I will be able to Fly My Predator 200 Miles or more. I mean I came up short of Flying My Predator a Hundred and Fifty Miles by less than 6,000 Feet.

It sorta trips Me out as to My wanting to fly a 100 Miles in 4 Hours or Less. How John said to Me: "You should have done that Flight when You were heavier". My last Flight 16 Years ago, on that March Sunday Morning I weighed 298 Pounds. I really am stunned that Possibly not that when I will Fly again, I will not weigh a 190 Pounds or more. The idea that yo accomplish Flying My Predator that I would fair better if I weighed a Hundred Pounds more just blows My Mind. Yes, in My Minds Eye. I can see Myself talking about, or writing about How I would have been a more accomplished Cross Country Pilot if I had just weighed More.

Yes I Flew a Fat better Glider than I was a Pilot. My 158 was capable of carrying Big Heavy Body further than anyone expected it to. Check this out: My158 Predator on spite of having to pack My Heavy Body
On the morning vof My last Flight I weighed 398 pounds
In spite of My weighing almost 300 pounds
While Flying My Predator on an (LITE DAY)
I could pretty much count on staying zup.

Boy is there some Flying to be done By Me. It has been 16.5 Years and counting   [iref=][/iref]  since I flew My Predator, March 28 2010. Not since My first Flight back in January 1991 as a Rank Newbe have I experienced insecurity regarding Flying a HG. Currently as the epic Day Draws nearer. I do have feelings which were not My "Normal". Know that now I Will be different as a Pilot. But there is a very real reason that I will be Different Physically as a 158 Prrdator Pilot. Iran check theses z umbers put. I remember as an experiment, I Flew with water Ballast
I did this do I could see how My Predator Flew when I hooked in as heavy as 344 Pounds. The end result. Flying My Predator at a Mountain site. I found that each time that I Flew hooking in as heavy as 344 pounds. The Predator truly does have a phenomenal sink rate. while loaded up with Me, My Harnesses, a Helmet, and water was loaded up as heavy as 344 Pounds.

So I just want to talk about where I have been, what happened Sixteen and a half Years Ago, I suffered an upset that if the initial Doctors to tend to My severly Damaged Body. If their Prognosis had been accurate, it was my. It is just so cool that Those Doctors at John Muir Hospital over in Walnut Creek had been correct with My Prognosis, I would have ended up Dead. OK now, how would I would ever have a chance of becoming a better Pilot, a Predator Pilot who could out Climb Birds? Check this out; My HG Pilot friend was lost likey the first to get John Muir Hospital to see Me. Robert: (Pilot-X) was told; "You should notify His family for He is not expected to Survive". Let Me say that, I also Fortunate That Those John Muir Doctors were incorrect with Their Prognosis. Each Day as I get closer, and closer to being a for E anyways. I now know that I might not ever be better than I was before the Afternoon of March 28th 2010. T really does cause Me to experience strong feelings of being quite Humble and Grateful for the whole experience.

Shure I can, and I must admit that I do (HOPE) that I will be given the chance to Demonstrate that I will be able to Fly again. John is ',planning on coming to a northern California on a Day that most likely will be in the next couple of weeks
See John will be bring a W- W Alpha for Me to try Flying.v "Try" is not the Correct word. I should of said it something like this. John will be bringing I believe that the Glider in Question is a 235 Wills - Wing Alpha. Well anyways I believe that John said that the Glider was a 235. Anyways, the idea is for Me to have a chance to to take Flight again. Anyways, this Sounds quite Cool to Me.
