Well. there are a couple of issues that will cause Me Not to Be coming down once again this Year. One I get the Impression that there will not be a Lilienthal Event to attend this Year. Two Lohn I believe will be in Utah. When I do Fly, I need John to observe Me. Also as has been the Case in Years Past. Transportation has been and will continue to be a Problem for Me. And third I do not know where I will stay. These Issues thar I have regarding My Coming down as petty as they May sound to You Guys, never the less they are Issues that cause Me to Decline once again to Make an XC pilgrimage, Trek Down to LA. Oh Darn. I was kind of looking forward to Launching at Dockweiler then Heading to Torrey Pines where I would land.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't be there this year Chris. :(

On the bright side, the forecast is looking pretty good for the afternoon:

I don't normally show (or even check on) the chance of rain, but since there was an appreciable wind change, that can sometimes indicate a storm approaching. But I don't think an 8% chance of rain should be much of a concern.

In a Perfect World I would just have My Sister Drive Me, and My Predator up to Mount Diablo Launches. I would Set Up My Predator Then Do a Pre-Flight. Launch, then Proceed to Fly Cross Country down to Southern California. I can just see it now. My having Flown to Southern California. Maybe I would Land at Say Torrey Pines. then upon learning that A Rogue Pilot Flying a Predator had landed at HIS SITE". David Jebb Would Come up to Me in rage for I did not have the Proper Form, the Paper that David Jebb recognizes a Valid Legal document. Then from what I have learned. Mr. Jebb Would call His Friends at the Police Department, and ask them to arrest Me.

In a perfect world, you wouldn't have to mention anything beyond flying and landing. :)

I'm glad there are still of us early HG people around like Gary, Joe, and others. I've not flown in the past year or more (I'm 89 now) so I haven't been following these posts. But I'll be going to Dockweiler tomorrow (5-23) morning with Bob. I'll not be taking my HG's but I will take my beach harness and helmet in case it's good wind and I can fly Bob's Condor 225. I still have USHPA insurance so I can fly on Thursday.

Back in the day, I often would stop in at Bruce's house in San Clemente for a visit, on my way back from flying Elsinore. Bruce and Richard left us way to early. :(

The forecast is looking like a nice pleasant flying day from afternoon until nearly sunset:

The Otto Meet today was small but fun.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and contributed to the Day.

Until next year . . . . . Happy Birthday Otto!!!

OK I'm Dazed and confused. With Me: {BEING DAZED AND CONFUSED}. This goes to Wy Back to My last Flight and the Pounding I took While Flying My Predator.

Anyways. I got the; {IMPRESSION} that this Year there would not be a Otto Fly-in. The issue of that the Otto Meet would not have Insurance. Insurance to have a Fly-IN? Really?

The Otto Meet happens each year because people individually choose to honor the history of that day. If even a single person does so, then it was a success.
