Flying troubles

Postby Chris McKeon » Wed Jun 29, 2022 1:46 pm

Well here I am, I am in the same boat, more or less as all of You have found Yourselves in from time to time. That is when You do not have Someone to retrieve You, There would be no Flying for You. But to those who are content making Pass, after Pass up and down an Costal Ridge. You Could Fly. But if You want to do Some serious Flying, as in Flyting from a Mountain somewhere. Then Flying X-C then You land many Miles away from where you started. Maybe you land say in a neighboring State. Then You need someone to retrieve You. I did this once I landed in Gardnerville Nevada. I walked to a House so I could ask to use a Phone, a phone of the Property owner. Well I did just that I left My Predator folded, standing upon it's Control frame. I asked this Lady to use Her Phone, Please note; I did not have a Cell Phone. I asked the Lady if I could use Her Phone, I pointed out into the Field at My Predator. I said to Her that I landed My Hang-Glider, while I pointed to it after I had flown Cross Country. I said that I needed to use Her Phone to call My Driver so that KM could know where to come and Get Me. This is so totally Cool, for You can not buy a Moment like this: She said when I told Her Sonora Pass was where I launched from. She replied: "You are Lying! Sanora Pass is over Fifty Miles from here! I said; "Ok I am a Lier, now can I please use your Phone?'

Well this Weekend, I will not fly. That is because Pilot-X is heading up to His House up at Indian Valley. Have fun X.

Well this Weekend Pilot-X has gone up to Indian Valley with His Family. So that Means that I will not be Flying George's Condor. Yes i have problems regarding My flying. So here are Two things. One is something I DO KNOW. The other is Something that I do not know?

The thing that I Do Know Is; I do know that My Next flight, this flight will be Made long after My First ever HG flight that took Place in New Zealand. By the Way. Down in New Zealand they are a Great Bunch of People. I am so Glad that I started Flying down there.

So I do know that My First flist since I Pounded will be when I Fly a WW Condor 330. Can You say BIG BIRD?

What do not know yet is when this Flight will take Place hopefully it will happen this coming weekend.

Pilot needs Help.

Postby Chris McKeon » Thu Aug 11, 2022 8:26 am

Well now that I am steadily, if not Slowly. I know that I may be; "PUTTING THE OX BEFORE THE CART". But since after when I Pounded Twelve Years ago. I no longer have My VA riometer. I have no Memory of My last Flight, not the day Nor the preceding week. I do have some Memory regarding a Job that I was doing over in Lafayette. I am a General Contractor. But after I Pounded, I was out of it, as in unconscious. Well for some reason, I do not know why? Heck there was no Fire. But Fire-Fighters showed up. Well they did a quite crude break-down of My Glider, and packed up My Gear, My Harness, My Helmet. Well what had been a Charly Insider Helmet. Anyways My VA riometers was lost.

Ok I have a Question? What are Guys using regarding VA riometers currently?

Thanks Guys, I am just trying to get My Gear back together. For I am on the Verge of Flying again. Thanks Chris McKeon.

I have been out of the loop for Twelve Years. what VA riometers are Pilots using these Days/ also could I Fly where my Vario Gps would be able to relay my position to My Driver on a Given Day, and a Given XC Flight?

Check these thoughts out. First right now, I believe that I am pretty sad case regarding My being in any way, shape or form being an active Pilot. I mean the only way that I will Fly is with some {HELP FROM MY FRIENDS}. I mean before My crash. I thought nothing of going up to Mount Diablo and roping off a Dozen Flights or so, Or heck Maybe I would simply head off Xc. Then after I landed, That was when the XC adventure would begin. The Adventure would be How I would return Sans a Driver. So just being able to think that I might indeed Fly this Weekend is really a great Thought.
