In 1972 a master from the model world interfaced with Richard Miller and others: Mark Smith.
He came into hang gliding with the tailed rigid wind hang glider that may have had a challenge with the pilot's spine.
We were excited about his presence and flight. A full story is invited in this thread on Mark Smith.

Rick, your telling mastery gave right honor to George Worthington; Mark Smith's pain must have been so deep.

In Rick's article about George Worthington's last flight. Event: Ultralight Soaring Contest ~Rick Masters wrote:

"Aviation does not allow us to make mistakes and survive."

Earlier, as mentioned in Rick's article about George Worthington's final flight, there was mention of George's article about Mark Smith's Wanderer
The issue "July 12, 1982" is linked through the following collage that shows the Wanderer

Every human at every point in history has an opportunity to choose courage over cowardice. Look around and you will find that opportunity in your own time.
