But Bob, . . .

Frank was counter soaring at the DMV! Every time he made a pass the people behind the counter would have to duck!

Thinking of Dockweiler on Fourth of July,
instead I opened the day with five flights in a public park. I took turns with this little guy (parents gave permission for the video):
A beginning of recreational hang gliding in a public park
About 10 other tikes had their gliding balance scooters and bikes (without pedals; these are little slope gliders that use gravity to give motion down the slope). My device was an Alpha 210; two wheels not so unlike the tike's balance-bike wheels. :)

Monday I'll be getting my gear ready and packing my truck for the week (driving up Tues) in the Owens Valley, rowing the river. Don't know yet if Rick M will be joining us.

I wish I could get out to Dockweiler now that I have the finished design of the seat harness and the "use anywhere" bar adapters. I'd like to see you attach the adapters to your Falcon and fly it with the swing seat, Bob.

July 16, 2018, Monday: Bob Kuczewski is taking some flights for various purposes. He said he would take a couple as a nod to my play in the site's progress.
Thanks, Bob ! :salute: :salute: :D Forecast is showing 13 mph W for Bob and perhaps others.

My absence today and for the next four weeks: healing of a skin-surgery site at the site the down tube rests on the back; stitches will come out in three weeks. Dr. prescribed that no sudden stressful motions occur for the rt arm and upper back shoulder. OK, doc! :|

Joe, your spirit soars with me on every flight. Thanks for so many of the gifts you've given me.

I am currently resting in the warm sand in the shade of my Falcon. I've been making sets of 5 to 10 flights and sometimes napping in between. There have been lots of spectators and I always mention lessons Wednesday through Sunday. I even passed on a copy of the site waiver to to a Beaches and Harbors staff member who stopped by.

I did the usual site cleanup in honor of your own good site stewardship. See, you're here even when you're not here. :)

But It's better when you're really here, so heal fast and fly when you're ready.

P.S. As I promised, I've already taken a number of flights for you and Angela. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. ;)

It was a very good flying day at Dockweiler. I flew with my Falcon 195 all day.

The day started strong but difficult to soar in my Falcon (it would have been easy in any size Condor). But the wind got a bit stronger, and I was able to make single, double, and multiple pass flights for most of the day.

My longest flights were 4 passes (up and back twice). A few times I continued further north along the ridge, but there was no way to return (other than a long carry back).

There were lots of people asking questions, and I encouraged them all to take lessons with Windsports.

It was a fun day, and I'm sorry for everyone who missed out on it.

Bob,

Thank you for being a good steward of the sport and a great guy.

Keep it up.
