I think the "
... any other material that may violate any laws ..." clause covers libel (even though only "slander" is explicitly called out).
This is from our current terms of service:
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “US Hawks Hang Gliding Association” is hosted or International Law.
Unfortunately, the determination of what material actually violates a law isn't always known until it goes to court. So there's always a gray area that we have to contend with. I think we should just do our best and try to be fair to everyone. I think that's what we did in this case. Thanks to all who helped.
