Gliding into Torrey Pines Cliff lift zones sans park launch

As far as I know, the first gliding flight over the Torrey Pines cliffs was made by Charles Lindbergh on the maiden flight of his new Bowlus Paperwing sailplane, the Anne Lindbergh, on February 22, 1930. He launched from Mt. Soledad, rode the lift over Torrey, and landed near Del Mar. The sailplane had a max l/d of 20:1. Details can be found in Gary Fogel's recent, highly-illustrated paperback, The Torrey Pines Gliderport (2014).

We might have to discover some primary reference for a quote that was given in an article of 2010 about a 1910 flight

"Frazier Curtis ushered in the first flights off the Torrey Pines cliffs in 1910."

A different source notes: "Frazier Curtis, is really given credit for forming the Escadrille Lafayette"
... to be verified. The quote was from: Flying Magazine - Nov 1934 - Page 282.

Some editor placed a caution on research: "There is often confusion between the Lafayette Escadrille and the Lafayette Flying Corps, exacerbated by the inaccuracies in the movie Flyboys."

We are face that Frazier Curtis has one "s" in name; this is distinct from the Curtiss family name (two" "ss" } in early aeronautics.

So, we still seek definitive reference for cliff-lift gliding for him at Torrey.
