Hawks,
When I went to the site that Sam K. linked I get an Allow-Deny pop up that will not go away and get out of my way when I try to click Deny.
Does anyone know how to stop this pop up?

Quote:
SAN DIEGO — Emergency crews came to the rescue Wednesday of a hang glider who crashed onto a steep sea bluff while flying above Black’s Beach and a second man who climbed down the precipice to try to help and got stuck there himself.

Hang Glider Rescue

The initial accident occurred about 50 feet down the cliff near Torrey Pines Glider Port about 1:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Thanks for posting that Sam!!! I'm sorry that I've been super busy at work for the past few days, and I haven't had a chance to respond on the forum. :(

Since Bill was having trouble with the link, here's the text of it from the link you posted:

Hang Glider Crashes Into California Cliff

Lifeguards and firefighters were responding to the crash when they got word of the second stranded man, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said.

Rescuers lowered themselves down to the victims on ropes and then hauled them back to the top of the bluff. Paramedics airlifted the hang glider, who was conscious throughout his ordeal, to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment of a back injury of unknown severity. The second rescued man was uninjured, Swanson said.

The victim told authorities he had a couple years of experience hang gliding and didn’t catch enough wind for the chute to properly inflate, causing him to crash into the cliffs below the Glider Port.

It's disgusting how many times they call paragliders "hang gliders" here in San Diego.    I suspect that the PG conce$$ionaire is involved in this mislabelling, but I don't have direct proof.

It turns out that I work close enough to Torrey, that I walked over as soon as I heard about it. Here are some of the pictures I took at the scene:

This first picture shows the helicopter. You can see the crewman standing out on the skid with the line running down below him.

This picture shows the stretcher and crew member being pulled up just in front of the cliff.

This picture shows the helicopter flying off with the stretcher and crew member dangling below. You can see some of the spectators as well.

This picture shows more of the spectators watching as the helicopter flies away.

This picture shows the ambulance and some of the camera crews covering the event. I believe the story was broadcast nationally.

This shows the rope crew packing up.

And this shows the conce$$ionaire (Robin Marien) looking over his shoulder as he walks back to his office.

Hi Bill, I think that pop-up is your web browser warning you that the site wanted to store information on your computer. But I don't know why your browser doesn't make it go away when you click on it. That's what you get for visiting any site other than the US Hawks. :srofl:

I was able to go to the site myself and I posted the content for you in my previous post. I hope that helps.
