I just watched a video regarding the fall of Radio Shack here:

       https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bidLW5x_yyk

As with a few other videos I'd seen, it seemed overly repetitive and the video clips didn't match the narrative. I suspected that it was AI generated, so I began searching through the comments to see if anyone else picked up on it. That's when I found a comment by ChopperGirl!!

@choppergirl 6 months ago

Their products stopped being edgy and hard to acquire things, and started being consumer pablum rubbish. Their hey day were their TRS-80 years & electronic educational kit years. I think as soon as they started selling RC trucks and cars, and cell phones, and pushing batteries, they spiraled down the toilet. Am I right, or am I wrong? When they went down the toilet, the only thing left of interest to me was the overpriced rare part in little baggies, and even then I felt uncomfortable like I was under security cameras, because by the rest of the store catered to the Idiocracy

First, I agree with her comment, and I gave her a thumbs up. Second, I am curious about her opinion on it being AI generated. What do you think ChopperGirl?

Hmm, don't think it's AI generated. The thumbnail image backgrounds may be and the voice may be AI made from a script, but neither of those make a channel AI generated.
Looks like somebody put some work into their channel. I use a ton of AI tools myself, but they are just that, tools, like a pencil or paintbrush or spray gun.
They don't do the work, they just let you do new, more exciting, more interesting work.... faster... than using just your fingers alone in charcoal on a cave wall.

In the end, I only stopped at Radio Shack to leave a program running on their TRS-80 at the entrance.
Funny, I've got a TRS-80 Model 1 (x2), 2, and 3 in my antique collection and I have never fired them up.

I myself steal liberally and without remorse or conscience from anywhere on the net, like a kidnapper cutting out letters from everywhere to make an untraceable ransom note, and modify and remix to suit... all just to make the TV I want to see. Like throwing buckets of paint at a wall and seeing what you end up with at the end. Some rando with only one video on their own channel, called my entire channel AI slop... to which I thought, I wish... it took me about 6 hours each in a Dr Pepper coked up frenzy in the dark to make each video. If AI could of made all my videos for me, that could have saved me 5,000 hours of pointless labor... but then if it could, what would be the point? Making videos is my happy place. Like building custom hot rods from parts you source liberally from a junk yard and scheme up how to put them together into something new and artistic, and someone telling you your cars are mass produced junk. Depends on your perspective, yes and no. I have fun building them regardless of where I get the part from, and the automotive industry can't mass produce... this. AI can't make one of my videos.

I just bought a PiDP-8 Kit from Panama for a Canadian friend to give him something to put his new soldering station to use to... https://obsolescence.wixsite.com/obsolescence/pidp-8
now I have to snipe him a used Raspberry Pi off ebay, set it all up, and forward on to him to stick in it so it will actually power the lights and emulate a PDP-8.

Here, a junky video made entirely with AI with a lot of garbage stock footage in their library, compare against your Radio Shack video. I don't think they have that much Radio Shack footage in anyone's stock footage library.

I don't actually have any pink and black quadcopter... you can hit up Invideo Storyblocks https://invideo.io and test it to make your own AI generated video... and see what results you get.

I did tell YT that AI was free to scrape all my videos and chew on them, maybe it can learn something from them. Maybe in 5, 10, 20 years I can watch new Choppergirl videos.. not made by me.

I don't know about the channel, but I'm suspicious of that particular one because so much of the video doesn't match the audio. For example, at 2:25 they say Radio Shack entered the high fidelity music market, but they are showing images and video clips that have nothing to do with high fidelity music. That's certainly not conclusive proof of AI, but I'd be surprised for a thinking person to ignore the mismatch.

Also, for fun, here's an animated GIF similar to your 1981 flashback video:

Your version in Python:

import math
x = 0
y = 0
while True:
x += 0.13
y += 0.2
print ( " "*int(19*(1+math.sin(x))) + "*" )
print ( " "*int(19*(1+math.cos(y))) + "*" )

Well, they may have dubbed their new audio script over a pre-existing video about Radio Shack... a lot of the video footage doesn't match up at all or is delayed or out of sync.
The real tell clue is up in the top left corner there is a changing (C) followed by a name that changes with each click, which is your "tell" perhaps if it were generated by which AI program, if by an AI program. You could always email him at contactuntamedvideos @ gmail.com and ask... :-)
