Little Hawk in Las Cruces / El Paso

Hello RGSA!!

I'm just writing to suggest the possibility for public outreach whenever it might be convenient.

The Torrey Hawks has a neat little glider (nicknamed "Little Hawk") that's designed for public outreach.

If there's ever a good event where having Little Hawk might help your club ... please let me know. It might take a little planning, but there's a good chance that we can work something out to promote hang gliding and your club in your local area. That's what the US Hawks is all about!!

Bob,
I'd like to have You and Little Hawk for 2015 July Jubilee Parade in Leakey, (lay'-key).

Do you ship it. I have a WW glider shipping box that can be modified to fit LH.

Plan on visiting Texas for this event :!: I will secure lodging for you and RGSA members at 49R airport.

We can scooter tow with the SWTHG Condor. :P

And fly the foot launch hill if you bring your glider. It's a short hike to launch. No worse than at Torrey.

RGSA para pilots welcome too.

What ya'll say :?:

I say ... This is what the US Hawks is all about!!!

We've got a guy in California connecting to a guy in Texas through a club forum in New Mexico!!!

This is what USHPA should be doing ... except they can't because they're afraid they might have to answer tough questions from those guys in Texas, New Mexico, and California. :srofl:

Sam, let us know when you've got the dates finalized, and we can advertise it right here on the US Hawks.

Bob,
What you said about the Southwest Connection is what we should focus on. The preservation of our sport.

We can't make this flying too much of an event.

But the July Jubilee is some kind of event, now. The town quadruples + > in population. .

Any flying that week of the Jubilee celebration will put HG/PG flying in front of a lot of people.

Most of the visitors not familiar with HG/PG.

We never had the Fly-in on the 4th, because of WRE early and Big Spring dates later in the month or in Aug. .

The Fly-in was good for our pilots, a lot of H1/P1 & H2/P2 instruction, the world teams flew here '07, Bill Moyes visited one year, and it helped out the tug owners supplying towing for those other events.

Although we had good spectator crowds each year and did fair amounts of tandem instruction, in a large way we always missed the target of exposure.

Little Hawk will fit in the Parade :!:

2015, July 4th is on Saturday.
