It was expressed that there was great concern that the incoming administration headed by President Elect Donald Trump
could walk back some of the gains one of which is the Organ Mountains- Desert Peaks Conservation Act.
Some of the free hand-outs gave general information about answers to, Wilderness FAQS:
Generally Wilderness areas prohibit the use of motor vehicles but there are a few exceptions for emergency vehicles and administrative use.
Bikes are prohibited but the bike riding community is trying to change this prohibition in certain areas (AZ).
Only foot travel or horse back for Wilderness areas.
Hunting and fishing are allowed subject to state and federal laws.
Grazing is allowed as before the designation but Congress on occasion will prohibit grazing on new designated areas.
There were no hand-outs concerning specific laws available.

Thanks for attending, Bill. It's important - very important - for the preservation of our flying in this part of the country. Were you able to present our views to any of the attendees there? I've visited with Nathan Small and Jeff Steinborn before, and thought that they were pretty reasonable people.

We already have to leave our cars at the wire fence and use a portage cart for the 700 yard slog up hill to launch at Mag. Rim.
The Rim is out of sight of the Organ Mountains. I see a lot of Mission Creep going on here.

I feel for those ranchers but I also feel for the wagon wheel makers, candle stick makers, buggy whip makers.....

Times change. Multiple use. Maybe the best use of sensitive riparian zones isn't beef production :?:

Mission creep is a good term. There is also an agenda at work here.
