I don't think people are still flying there because I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. I'm thinking the beach leading there has been closed to vehicles and it is about 2 miles of sand from the parking lot to the dune. I think the motor vehicles have to stay north of the Santa Maria River now.

And there were archaeo sites in the area, visible from the air.
