Hi Pilots!

I want to get video from pilots to use in my movies. I have not had much success in the past. There are some problems:

  1. How to get the videos. My foil hat level requirements for security and privacy prevent me from using most places where pilots share video.
  2. How to inform the pilots that I want video, what I need, what I will use for.

Problem A: I will provide an upload link that pilots can use to send videos to my cloud storage.

Problem B: I'm considering making cards, business card size, to distribute with basic information that I want videos and this link https://www.splododyne.com/index.php/pilots for more information.

Handing out the cards or putting them on a table at the LZ seems pushy or like some sleazy sales thing. But I don't get video if pilots don't know that I want it.

Please give your opinions, suggestions, or advice on this method or alternatives.

Finis, you can use any of my videos that are on my channel on YouTube
by going to Bill Cummings Channel
There are several people with the same name so scroll through them until you find my
glider banked up in a right turn.

My gliding movies are here now: https://rumble.com/playlists/SvI4WGJw7dg

Some can still be seen at Vimeo but no new videos will be put there.

I'm working on a movie for the 2023 Columbus Day Dry Canyon Fly In. Much editing and not much time so it won't be soon.

Thanks for the update. Do you know if Rumble has a way to embed videos in other web sites?

For example, the following code will embed a YouTube video:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ESuwxdlpmhI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I've implemented that code with the "[youtube]" tag here on U.S. Hawks.

Vimeo uses similar code:

    <iframe title="vimeo-player" src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/338775551" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

That's similarly implemented with the "[vimeo]" tag here on U.S. Hawks.

Do you know the proper way to embed videos from Rumble?

Thanks in advance.

Update: I did a little research and added a "rumble" tag for Rumble videos. For example, to show the following video (below) enter this tag:

       [rumble]v4aktz6[/rumble]

That should show this video in your post:

You can read more in our help topic at: https://ushawks.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... 60&#p34460

Thanks to Finis for the motivation to add the "rumble" tag and make the U.S. Hawks even better!

Thanks Bob!

I'd be happy with a still picture and link but embed is good.

Rumble provides several embed methods but I found none of them worked well on another PHPBB forum. The management there installed this add on which claims to work for may sources of video. It worked for Rumble. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/mediaembed

You've got it fixed already.

When playing videos Rumble likes to default to a low res version. You have to use the settings to select full res.
