Rick Girard

Rick Girard passed away suddenly three weeks ago, at his home in Kansas, from a medical emergency.

Rick was 69 years old.

He was proud to be involved in the Chelan XC Classic during the early days, when the meet proceeds were donated to Search and Rescue in Chelan.

He was a machinist, Harley rider, a General Aviation pilot, and became one of the first people to be FAA certified

for Airframe and Powerplant on Light Sport aircraft.

Rick's family will hopefully be posting to his Facebook page at some point.

He was a very dear friend of mine, passionate in his opinions, he loved music and science fiction.

I will miss him greatly.

He is with every sky brother and sister who have passed before him.
