New HG Safe Practice.

When the area where you fly gets over the hump of the Covid19 curve and you think that
Emergency Services could help you and do no harm you may decide to take flight.
Keeping in mind that social distancing until this flue season is past would be prudent.
Dohara and I both know a pilot that used to follow a procedure that would fit the bill.
The pilot’s name is John Elliot. John had a Jeep with a rack to carry his glider and
a mount for his Honda 90 cc trail bike. John would chain his Honda to a power pole
in the Junkyard LZ, then take his Jeep to the top of Chelan Butte Washington (State).
Often he would land his glider on top of the Butte but if he sunk to the junkyard LZ
he would knock down his glider, chain the glider to the power pole, drive the Honda
to the top of the butte, to get his Jeep.
This procedure will eliminate the need for a car pool and maintain social
distancing.

More than once I would see John get a morning flight at Chelan, top land, eat a sandwich, read a bit, and relaunch for a mid day flight. He always seemed to be studying the conditions, very methodical and scientific in his approach to flying.
What a great person!!
