I'm glad to see Steve is fighting back against this bulls***. It's too bad the current HPAC administration created this situation and is going to waste our money on legal fees and then probably have to pay out anyway. It seems to me it's all political and they are just trying to punish him for past mistakes that he's already paid the price for.
It's time for them to admit their mistakes and fix it

(quoting entire message by Doug Keller, right above)
Sounds like know you all about the case and HPACs' reasons… why don't you act as Steve's lawyer in his defence so you can guarantee the win and have a feeling of self satisfaction sticking it to your own association you once volunteered for.
HPAC loves having members like you.

I've heard enough to come to my own conclusion that they didn't follow their own procedures and seem to have a political agenda and to know that the way they treated him isn't right. The HPAC BOD has a record of not following our written procedures and now it's going to bite them and us in the a**. Hopefully they learn from it, unfortunately it's going to be at the members expense.
Obviously I'm not a lawyer so I won't be acting in that capacity but I'm happy to show my support publicly for a member who, in my view, has been wrong by the BOD.
I'm sure the HPAC, and by that I'm sure you mean the BOD, would love to only have members that never question their authority or actions and blindly go along with whatever they tell us is best for us but as members it is our right and responsibility to question them when we think they are wrong. I have spent a lot of time volunteering in the hang gliding scene over the last 35 years including in the role of HPAC President and I think that gives me the perspective I need to know when something isn't right.
This is just another example of the atmosphere of secrecy that the BOD tries to operate in. Why is it that the members have to hear about this from the Ozreport when it is something that could affect not only our financial health but our reputation as well.
And to be clear, I'm currently not a member. I let it lapse last year and won't be renewing until I have to. It's my own small protest against what I see happening or in some cases don't see happening at HPAC recently.
