RRG Update --- 2/11/16
Chapters, Pilots, and Instructors:
Our efforts over the past 6 months are starting to pay off and we have some good news to share. USHPA has negotiated three month extensions of our existing CGL (Pilot & Site) policy and the PL (Instructor) policy. Both will be extended until June 1st in order to allow an orderly transition to the RRG without a gap in coverage. Pilots, chapters, and instructors have all been concerned about the looming policy expirations and this extension gives us the necessary breathing room. Extensions to the existing site insurance certificates will be issued next week.
Over the next month, there will be more activity and information coming out related to USHPA chapter and site renewals, formation of the Risk Retention Group, and Professional Air Sports Association (PASA) certification. Some upcoming milestones:
Risk Retention Group (RRG)
Formation of the RRG has begun, and regulatory approval is in process
Pending expected regulatory approval, the RRG will be accepting applications for coverage by April 1st
Pending approval, policies will be issued by the RRG starting June 1st
Professional Air Sports Association (PASA)
PASA school certification requirements will be published within the next 7-10 days
PASA will begin accepting applications for school certification on April 1st
USHPA
Extensions to existing site insurance certificates will be issued next week
Chapter renewal applications, including site insurance, will be available April 1st and will be due May 15th
New site insurance certificates will be issued by June 1st
We continue to be amazed at how our community has come together to ensure our future. The Free Flight Forever campaign will continue to raise funds until April 1st. Every dollar makes us stronger, and we're grateful for those donations that are continuing to roll in towards a stronger, more sustainable future.

It is a relief to all of us that these extensions have been approved and we will continue to provide information throughout the transition process.
Respectfully,
