I was quite surprised to see Jamie become the new CIVL secretary. It's great, but profoundly strange.
I wonder if she is the real USHPA CIVL representative.

Just great

So even though Jamie Sheldon has been appointed as CIVL representative, and has a cooperative agenda established for the meeting?

Instead, USHPA funds some guy to attend to "deal with" the "comp PG issues". Isn't that rewarding poor behavior? I mean, considering the nature of the issues.

But Jamie, as the CIVL representative appointee, keeps her promise and funds her own trip?

Sounds like misappropriated funds. Is this a PG comp issue or a PG manufacturing issue that USHPA is funding.

Like you said, strange.

Hi Sam, it is sad to see our organization sink so low; all pg, all the time, no discusion permitted about seperating the sports, no critisizing current policy ie.(the actual reason for ins.problems)missrepresentation of hg issues, and permiting pg to defie authority, in regards to training, ignoring VFRs, controlled air space, and right of way demanded by FFA. And, now Bob, in spite of all He has done to help the sport, insists on revisiting closed, troll related, irrelavent, distrating psychlogical discussions, right in the midst of 'building the US HAWKS'. If He would delete ALL that troll stuff, and move unrelated posts to free speach or spam, we would not look so foolish to the rest of the world. I'm not sure Bob understands His editoreal responsability, who his audeancs is, or how much WE depend on him to do what is right and proper in regards to a national HG assn. It only takes one fringe element to sabatage the intire prossess!

Did you all know this is what is on the FAQ page....

http://www.ushpa.aero/faq.asp

in the HG section they ask this...

E. How safe are hang gliders?
As safe as the person flying them. Like any form of sport aviation, hang gliding can be dangerous .....

But do they ask that in the PG section......NO (they even tell them not to ask)

in the PG section they ask this....

Q.Why would anyone want to fly a paraglider when they could fly a hang glider?
A. A paraglider folds down into a package the size of a largish knapsack and can be carried easily.
...Conversely, a hang glider needs...
(they even go on to put down HGs....sad)
Do they ask that same type of question in the HG section.....nope

WTF people...could this be hurting our sport?

So not cool.

Diev

If anyone is able to post on "hanggliding.org" (translation: not currently banned), you might mention that there is an effort underway to start a new National Hang Gliding Association (US Hawks) ... but you're not allowed to even mention the name of that organization on "hanggliding.org".    :srofl:

Here's a suggestion:

There is an effort underway to start a new national hang gliding association that will focus on supporting the sport of hang gliding regardless of how small our numbers become. I'd mention it here on hanggliding.org, but SG won't allow it.

If you want more information, please contact me privately with your email address, and I'll send you the information. You can send your email address to me via PM through this forum, but don't mention the topic or SG might intercept it. If you send me a PM and I don't respond, then that probably means that SG has cut our communication lines.
