Fellow Hawks,

Thank You for accepting SW Texas Hang Gliders into the US Hawks Assn.

    Our goals:
Promote hang gliding and SW Tx. as a world class soaring local.
              Provide year round flying.

    Previous accomplishments:
              1. Organizing "Texas Open" fly-in, '02-'09.
              2. Assisting in U.S. footlaunch record, DavidPrentice- 162mi.-PG

A big THANK YOU to the Hawks leadership, not only for this forum, but for having insight into what should be done that will further our sports growth.

Please feel free to contribute to discussions here.

Best Regards,
Sam Kellner, Pres.

Welcome Sam and the SW Texas Hang Gliders Club!!!

One of the primary goals of the US Hawks is to support and build local hang gliding organizations like yours. I've got some (limited) experience in setting up a club, so I can lend a hand with rudimentary bylaws and I can also help with customizing your club's forum if you like. You can also visit the Torrey Hawks web site (torreyhawks.org) to see what we've been using for our bylaws.

I would also suggest becoming a USHPA Chapter since it's essentially free (beyond the small initial fee). That gives you visibility through them (a listing on their web site) and you also get two free copies of their magazine which can be sent to local libraries or schools to promote the sport and your club.

Most of all, please contact me any time if I can be of assistance to you or your club. The US Hawks is about serving our members and our clubs ... so please let us help.

Sincerely,
Bob Kuczewski
