Weather for Columbus Day Weekend

Hi, folks! If you are contemplating coming for the Columbus Day Gathering this
weekend, I think we'll have some good conditions for flying in Alamogordo.
Friday is likely to be windy. But by Saturday the jetstream will move on and
break up, and we should have pretty mild, south to southwest winds that
afternoon and all through Sunday. Monday seems to be a decent day as well.
I'll keep updating this post as the weekend gets closer, but right now I'm
looking forward to some good flying. I'll bring my gas grill for a Saturday
evening cookout, and will try to bring something to cook on it as well. See you
all on Saturday, I hope!

Hi all, Bill C. here now and we have the LZ reserved for camping in Alamogordo, NM
for Fri, Sat, Sun, nights (maybe Monday too, not sure.) with no fee for camping. We will have porta jon in the LZ
and If I remember correctly we will have a BBQ gas grill so I'm thinking I will throw a steak
in my cooler. Check the RGSA website for weather posts by Robin as the weekend gets closer. For
now things are looking good. It should be a blast

Yes! I'm just turning away from the launch ramp in the Avatar! Velma (Baldwin) Woodcock took the picture from the launch ramp.
Camping in the LZ my get down to 65 degrees at night which is not bad. Daytime should be below 80 degrees.
As everywhere we are praying for good winds for the weekend.
