You can stay as long as you don't!

Seven were arrested in DC at their occupy tent location. Police in riot gear and on horseback said the protesters could stay with their tents as long as they followed the rules. They could camp twenty four hours a day (during the winter cold) as long as they didn’t have blankets or other bedding.
Somehow I think that sounds like a jackbooted, riot gear, statement that could just as well have been said, “You have the right to remain as long as you hold your breath.”
Don’t you just love affirmation of your rights when exercising them is impossible?
