Classic and Inspiring Movies

I've been up to my eyeballs in politics these past few weeks. I've been on phone banks making literally hundreds of calls to bring out voters. I've been to debates and candidate forums to pose issues to the politicians. And Tuesday night I was in the political circus at Golden Hall.

I am so disgusted by what I've seen, that I took a break tonight to reflect on some of my favorite movies.

During times like these, "citizen soldiers ", step forward from every walk of life.
Reacting to this outbreak of virus will be the same approach as 1941. All hands on deck , and we get to "choose our sacrifice".
All the "service people and truckers, and health care workers , police and fire, are out on the front lines , are deserving of our greatest respect.

My Father "joined the Army" in Jan. 1942, and by Feb. Was training to be a
B-25 pilot in Columbia S.C. The Doolittle Raiders were also in training there, but "in secret ". My Father went on to fly his B-25 Mitchell in the Pacific War, and then American Airlines after.

The movie "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" reminds us that we may not succeed ourselves, but we may inspire those after us to succeed where we failed. These two scenes convey that message.
